Hy Everyone! ( dutch down below)
You know it, or maybe you don’t but last Saturday was Valentine’s Day! Now, I can see you guys think, oh no, it will be a 4 pages long post with something her boyfriend did wrong on Valentine or something like that. WRONG! I’ve been single for over 5 years ( No, I don’t know why. If I’m looking for someone ? Yes, maybe…). My friend, who I wrote this post with is single too so this is NOT going to be a boring post!

It’s the best day to see who’s available
NO, absolutely not! Everyone around you is kissing his or her bf/gf, there’s nobody running around with a sign around their neck saying “I’m single”. It’s just like nobody is single on Valentine.
You don’t have to acknowledge this holiday exists
Noo…. It’s just the day after the 13th of February… *sigh*
Of course you don’t have to believe/acknowledge this, you believe what you want to believe. If you do acknowledge it exists and you are single, it’s the perfect time to use that excuse to watch this episode of Mock the Week (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5faL_-xJplw ) or to do a film/series marathon.
Everything good is on sale
Yes, everything for VALENTINE is on sale… all the other stuff isn’t… But everything is just cheaper when you’re single. #fact
It’s an excuse to get together with you single friends
No. Firstly, we (almost) always go out with single friends, the biggest part of our friends is single. On the other hand, when you go out with a friend who happens to be single too, you always get the question/comment ( when you meet someone you (both) know) : “are you guys dating?”
It’s the perfect time to embarrass your friends at their work
If you’ve been working for a while and prank each other every once in a while, then this is probably no problem. But if you’re a student then this is just very close to bullying. That wouldn’t be funny at all.
You can use today as an excuse to mope
Secretly? YES! It’s definitely allow to mope on Valentine’s Day about not having a bf/gf. But it can’t take too long. Sure, a person can/may dream. And (again) it’s the perfect excuse to eat a lot of chocolate and watch movies/series all day long!
Because it’s the worst day of the year to be in a relationship
Of course it can be really bad for your relation when your partner has really high expectations. Unless the day goes great! But when you both don’t like the present the other one bought for you, there (probably) will be a fight about the money you lost on buying that gift. And if there we’re already troubles in paradise, you just can’t split up in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. It’s just NOT DONE… So, when you do split up( the week after), Valentine’s Day will be a day you’ll remember as a boring day you didn’t like at all.

Hoi allemaal !
Jullie weten of jullie weten het niet maar vorige zaterdag was het Valentijnsdag! Nu, ik zie jullie al denken, oei, tzal hier weer een post worden van 4 paginas lang over een of andere blunder die haar lief heeft gemaakt op Valentijn of iets in die aard. FOUT! Ikzelf ben al meer dan 5 jaar terug single.(nee ik weet niet waarom. Of ik op zoek ben? Hoh ja misschien wel…) Mijn vriendin waarmee ik deze post heb geschreven is ook single dus een zagende post zal het zeker niet worden!
Waarover deze dan wel zal gaan? Het eerste deel van deze post gaat over een artikel met de titel “7 redenen waarom Valentijn de beste dag is om single te zijn”. Deel 2, dat om 16u ( hopelijk) online zal staan, gaat over (fantasievolle) dingen die kunnen mislopen op Valentijn zelf. Waarom fantasie? Omdat de wereld soms zo saai kan zijn zonder.

Het is de beste dag om te zien wie vrij is.
NEE absoluut niet! Iedereen loopt te kussen met zijn lief, er loopt dus echt niemand rond met een bordje “ Ik ben Single”. Op Valentijn lijkt gewoon niemand vrij.
Je moet niet geloven dat het Valentijn is.
Neuh… tis gewoon de dag na de 13de februari…. *zucht*
Natuurlijk moet je dat niet geloven, je gelooft wat je zelf wilt. Nu, indien je het wel geloofd kun je natuurlijk het excuus gebruiken dat het Valentijn is om die aflevering van Mock the Week (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5faL_-xJplw) te bekijken of een film/seriemarathon doen.
Alles is goedkoper.
Ja, alles voor VALENTIJN is goedkoper… de andere dingen niet….Maar alles is nu eenmaal inderdaad goedkoper als je alleen bent.
Valentijn is een goed excuus om met je single vrienden uit te hangen.
Nee. Ten eerste gaan wij bijna altijd uit met single vrienden, het grootste deel van onze vrienden is namelijk single. Een ander punt is dat, als je uitgaat met een vriend/vriendin die toevallig ook single is dan krijg je, als je iemand tegenkomt die je kent, hoogstwaarschijnlijk de opmerking: “zijn jullie samen?”
Het is het perfecte moment om je vrienden in verlegenheid te brengen op hun werk.
Als je al een eind aan het werken bent en af en toe eens grappen uithaalt is dit waarschijnlijk geen probleem. Maar als je een student bent komt dit wel zeer dicht bij pesterijen waar we eigenlijk niet om zouden kunnen lachen.
Het is het perfecte moment om down/zielig te zijn.
Stiekem? JA! Het is echt wel toegelaten om op Valentijn te mokken over het niet hebben van een lief. Het mag natuurlijk niet te lang duren maar een mens mag altijd wel eens dromen. Maar het is natuurlijk (alweer) het perfecte excuus om veel chocolade te eten en non-stop series en/of films te kijken!
Het is de slechtste dag om een relatie te hebben.
Het kan natuurlijk een relatiebreker zijn wanneer een van de twee te hoge verwachtingen heeft. Tenzij de dag natuurlijk goed verloopt. Maar wanneer ze elkaars cadeau niet leuk vinden kan het natuurlijk zijn dat er ruzie ontstaan omdat ze allebei dan geld kwijt zijn. En stel dat ze al relatieproblemen hebben en op het punt van splitten staan kunnen ze het moeilijk gedaan maken in de week voor Valentijn, het zal sowieso in de week erna zijn. Valentijnsdag wordt dus een dag weer geen van beide iets aan zal hebben.
