Hy everyone! (Dutch below)
Finally! My blogpost about 28 Days by David Safier :D I've been so eager to write this one.
The year has just started and I think I found one of my top 5 books of the year already. It's right up there with my last two book reviews about Girl Online On Tour and All the light we cannot see.

Finally, I want to say that this won’t be a boring book report but an insight (in case you haven’t realized) in what I felt when I read the book and what my favorite moments were.
About the book itself
The cover is not that different in the other languages but there is a big difference between the german cover and the normal one. + I didn't find it in English yet... weird

It's a very...how do you say this... thoughtfull cover.. If you read the book, you will understand why...
The Story= ( This next part won’t be straightforward ( sorry to all my teachers :p ) but a concurrence(? I don’t know if this is the right word) of all my thoughts and feelings… sorry about that! )
On New Years Day I got a book voucher from my parents. This is one of the books I bought with it. I really like the historical romance novels so this one was actually perfect for me. Especially because the story really happend. That makes it just that bit more special. The first chapter is really good, not a start you would expect from a book like this.
A real catch if you ask me :D
The thing that I liked most about this book is the main character, Mira. I know she didn't really existed but she was just so real. And a book with a female heroine is just more fun :). So I really can see things of her in me and vice versa. One of the other characters I liked the most was, of course, Amos. Cause 1) who doesn't want a guy to rescue you like that and 2) he just sounds very hot and good looking :D. His name actually made me think about the musketeers, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. I wouldn't be suprised if the author would used them to make Amos. His behavior is musketeer worthy!
All for one and one for all! Or something like that...
But one other reason I really like Mira is the fact that she’s the rebel I always wanted to be. #YesIJustCopiedThisFromMyPaperTownsReview ... But it's true!
And now I really have to be honest. I did find something (after reading the book) that was either a weird coincidence of just the author copying the world wide phenomenon. I'm talking about The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins... Just look at this equation:
Hunger Games - 28 Days - Occupation
Katniss - Mira - The Heroine
Primrose - Hannah - The sister that dies at the end
Mom - Mom - Mother with a depression because dad died
Gale - Daniel - The best friend that she should have fallen for
Peeta - Amos - The guy she eventually fell for
President Snow - Hitler - The Bad guy that rules everything
Peacekeepers - SS - The employees of the bad guy
Buttercup - Rebecca - The one that hated the Heroine at first
I probably could go on for a while but you get the idea...
But don't get me wrong, it's a really good story, a heavy one actually. I really shows what the people were willing to do in that time, just to survive. Even heartbreaking things at some points.
Even though it's a heavy story, I personally think it would make on hell of a movie. Or maybe a 3 part serie. And maybe that's the perfect opportunity to answer my questions I have at the end of the book. Where's Rubinstein? And where's Simon? They suddenly disappeared which was a bit weird. But actually not that weird, considering it was war...
And now, thanks to Hannah, I want to start dreaming about the 777 islands to keep everyone I love alive.

* Daniel who sacrifices himself
* Michal who askes Miriam to marry him
* The Last Chapter
* The First Chapter
* Realising that Mordecai really was in love with Ruth
* Simon to the resque
* Chapter 33 ... OMG SHOCK!
* The chapter on the Marketplace where the woman gave her child up so she could live on. True Story.
Last but not least I want to say that the characters have grown on me. Not as hard as they do in other stories but enough to have a hard time keeping it dry at the end of the book. Daniel was a hero.
So, I really hope I convinced you guys to read the book. If so, why? What changed your mind? :p

Hoi allemaal!
Eindelijk! De blogpost over 28 Dagen van David Safier :D Ik heb echt verlangd om deze te kunnen schrijven!
Het jaar is nog maar net begonnen en ik heb volgens mij al een van mijn top 5 boeken van dit jaar gevonden. Samen met mijn laatste twee book reviews over Girl Online on Tour en Als je het Licht niet kunt zien.
Wie het boek nog niet gelezen heeft en dit echt van plan is, LEES NIET VERDER!(nu, zoveel spoilers zijn er eigenlijk niet maar zeg niet dat ik jullie niet gewaarschuwd heb!)
Voor wie nu echt verder zal lezen, geniet er van en laat eens weten of jullie (indien jullie het boek hebben gelezen) er ook zo over denken of wat jullie de leukste momenten vonden. Als je het boek niet hebt gelezen en het je, door deze blogpost, wel aanspreekt, waarom? Vertel met wat je van gedachten heeft doen veranderen.
Tenslotte wil ik nog zeggen dat dit geen saai boekverslag wordt maar een inkijk in wat ik voelde/dacht terwijl ik het boek las en wat mijn favoriete momenten waren.
Over het boek zelf
De cover is niet zo verschillend in andere talen maar er is wel een groot verschil tussen de Duitse en de normale cover. + ik heb geen Engelse gevonden... raar.

Het is een... hoe zal ik het zeggen... zeer overdachte cover. Als je het boek leest zal je het wel begrijpen.
Het verhaal zelf= (dit zal totaal geen rechtlijnige opbouw zijn, maar een samensmijtsel van mijn hersenkronkels )
Met Nieuwjaar heb ik een boekenbon gekregen van mijn ouders. Dit is een van de boeken die ik ermee heb gekocht. Ik vind historische romans leuk dus deze was eigenlijk perfect voor mij. En zeker omdat het verhaal ook echt gebeurd is. Dat maakt het net dat beetje speciaal. Het eerste hoofdstuk is zeer goed, niet echt een begin dat je zou verwachten van een boek zoals dit.
Een echte aanwinst als je het mij vraagt :D
Wat ik het leukste vond aan het boek was het hoofdpersonage, Mira… Ik weet dat ze niet echt bestaan heeft maar ze was gewoon zo echt. En een boek met een vrouwelijke hoofdpersonage is gewoon zoveel leuker :D. Ik kan dingen van mezelf zien in haar en omgekeerd. Een van de andere personages die ik het leukste vond was, natuurlijk, Amos. Want 1) wie wil er nu niet zo gered worden en 2) hij klinkt gewoon super hot en knap :D. Zijn naam deed mij eigenlijk denken aan de drie musketiers, Athos, Porthos en Aramis. Ik zou het ook niet vreemd vinden moest de auteur hen gebruikt hebben om Amos te verzinnen. Zijn gedrag is een musketier waard!
All for one and one for all! Of toch zoiets....
Een andere reden dat ik haar echt leuk vond is omdat ze de rebel is die ik altijd heb willen zijn. #JadithebikjuistgekopieerdvanmijnPaperTownsReview ... Maar het is gewoon waar!
En als ik echt eerlijk wil zijn. Ik heb iets ontdekt (na het lezen van dit boek) dat of een vreemd toeval was of gewoon de auteur die het alom bekende fenomeen heeft gekopieerd. Ik heb het over De Hongerspelen van Suzanne Collins... Kijk gewoon even naar deze vergelijking :

Katniss - Mira - Heldin
Primrose - Hannah - De zus die sterft op het einde
Mom - Mom - Moeder met een depressie om dat vader dood is
Gale - Daniel - De beste vriend waarop ze zou moeten verliefd zijn geworden
Peeta - Amos - De gast waar ze uiteindelijk verliefd op wordt
President Snow - Hitler - De Bad guy....
Peacekeepers - SS - De werknemers van de Bad guy
Buttercup - Rebecca - Wie eerst de heldin haatte.
Ik zou waarschijnlijk nog even kunnen doorgaan maar jullie snappen het wel...
Maar begrijp mij niet verkeerd, het is een zeer goed verhaal, een zwaar verhaal eigenlijk. Het toont echt wat de mensen wilden doen om te kunnen overleven in die tijd. Soms zelfs hartbrekend.
En zelfs al is het een zwaar verhaal, het zou een zalige film maken. Of misschien een driedelige serie. En ook de perfecte mogelijkheid om mijn vragen die ik op het einde van het boek had te kunnen beantwoorden. Zoals : Waar is Rubinsteins? En waar is Simon? Die zijn opeens verdwenen en dat was een beetje raar. Maar eigenlijk niet zo vreemd... het was nu eenmaal oorlog.
En nu, met dank aan Hannah, wil ik ook dromen over de 777 eilanden en iedereen waarvan ik hou levend houden.
Mijn favoriete momenten in het boek (niet in die volgorde)
* Amos en Mira in de stad
* 777 eilanden en Kapitein Wortel
* Daniel die zichzelf opoffert
* Michal die Miriam ten huwelijk vraagt
* Het laatste hoofdstuk
* Het eerste hoofdstuk
* Vaststellen dat Mordecai echt verliefd was op Ruth
* Simon die komt helpen
* Hoofdstuk 33 ... SHOCK!!!!
* Het hoofdstuk op de markt waar de vrouw haar kind opgeeft zodat zij kon blijven leven. Waargebeurd verhaal.
Tenslotte wil ik nog meegeven dat de personages echt naar me toe zijn gegroeid. Niet zo erg als in andere verhalen maar wel erg genoeg zodat het moeilijk was om het droog te houden op het einde van het boek. Daniel was een held.
Ziezo, ik hoop dat ik jullie overtuigd hebt om dit boek te lezen. Zo ja, waarom? Wat heeft je van gedachten doen veranderen?
